Jane Messacar

Jane moved to Arizona with her family in 1976 and has lived in Tempe with her husband and two children for almost 20 years. She graduated from ASU in 1985 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and began teaching with the Mesa Public Schools. In 1993 she received her M.A. from NAU. She is currently teaching part-time as a Reading and Math Instructor with the Kyrene School District and works as a Director of Education at her church, King of Glory Lutheran in Tempe. Jane was introduced to the equestrian world when a close friend gave her an 18 year old Paint horse named Cheyenne. With this new addition, the entire family discovered a brand new world. Her family currently owns two horses, are members of AQHA and APHA, and have participated in many equestrian events including 4-H, roping, gymkhana, trail riding, team penning, western show and rodeo. Jane has always been an avid reader of western history and it was a natural outlet for her to put those interests to work for CHF as the Foundation’s historian. She has helped research the clothing designers showcased at CHF, come up with historical trivia, and helped to plan and implement the Foundation’s education programs. She is currently working on writing a history of CHF.
